Young runners represent SSP at Norfolk School Games Finals

On Wednesday 22nd November a squad of 80 pupils represented the SSP at the Norfolk School Games cross country finals at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. It was a beautiful autumnal day and the conditions for cross country were perfect.

The Norfolk School Games aims to put physical activity at the heart of schools and provide all young people opportunities and experiences that can make a meaningful difference to their loves. SSP Squad

The SSP squad for the cross country finals comprised of pupils from Years 3 to 6 from 10 different schools. All of the pupils had qualified for the finals by finishing in the top 10 positions at our SSP cross country competition in Earlham Park on the 3rd of November.

The qualifying pupils came from the following schools (no of pupils);

  • Charles Darwin Primary (1)
  • Cringleford Primary (31)
  • Hethersett VC Primary (2)
  • Hethersett Woodside Primary (14)
  • Lakenham Primary (6)
  • Little Melton Primary (7)
  • St Francis of Assisi Primary (10)
  • St Michaels Junior (7)
  • Tuckswood Academy (1)
  • West Earlham Junior (1)

Course

Pupils raced a round a course through the beautiful Thetford Forest over the following distances:

  • Year 3 boys & girls = 1000m
  • Year 4 boys & girls = 1200m
  • Year 5 boys & girls = 1400m
  • Year 6 boys & girls = 1600m
