EPIC Norfolk are organising the ‘I am EPIC’ activity weekend on the 20-21 March, which has been funded by Sport England’s Tackling Inequalities Fund and distributed by Active Norfolk.
Who’s it for?
The event is aimed at young people aged 25 and under, who face challenges in participating in sport or physical activity, such as those from Lower Social Economic Groups and people with disabilities.
Participants must take part in 30 minutes of sport or physical activity during the weekend. This can be any activity of their choice. EPIC Norfolk will be hosting some live Zoom activities throughout the weekend as an option. Please note it’s not compulsory for participants to take part in the Zoom activities, they can do their own activity if they wish to do so. The Zoom details are further down this email.
How to enter
Entries are FREE. Each participant will receive a bespoke medal in the post. You can enter via this link https://totalracetiming.co.uk/race/260 . Please note that participants under 13 years old must be entered by a parent or guardian. You can find more information about Safeguarding here.
Submitting evidence
Once participants have completed 30 minutes of activity, you’ll need to login to Total Race Timing and go to ‘User Area’ to:
- Enter how was spent doing the activity (minimum 30 minutes).
- Type in what type of activity was completed.
- Upload a photo of the activity or of the participant taking part in the activity (optional). By uploading a photo, you consent to EPIC Norfolk (and the funders) to use it to promote the event, unless you contact us at info@epicnorfolk.com to withdraw that consent.
To receive the medal, you will need to submit evidence no later than Sunday 28th March. Please make sure the address is correct on Total Race Timing.
Share your activities
You can share your activities on social media using #IamEPIC and tagging @epicnorfolk, @ActiveNorfolk and @Sport_England.
Activity ideas
EPIC Norfolk will be releasing a virtual activity each day during the week leading up to the event, which will be shared on our YouTube channel (EPIC Norfolk – YouTube) and our Facebook and Instagram pages @epicnorfolk.
Live Zoom sessions
Please see details of the live Zoom sessions below, optional for participants to take part in for their 30 minutes of activity.
The HIIT are more suitable for able bodied people (they won’t be too intense!) and the Seated Exercise and 10-Pin Bowling are suitable for all abilities and are nice and gentle activities.
Please do not share the Zoom links on any public viewing platforms, to help protect those taking part.
