Over 2000 pupils of all ages from schools across Norwich have taken part in the national School Games Santa Dash.
The Santa Dash is a fun way for pupils to stay active whilst having fun in the lead up to Christmas. Pupils were challenged to run, walk or jog around their school field wearing a festive Santa hat or Christmas jumper.
Pupils from the following school have taken part:
- Chapel Break Infant School
- Bignold Primary School
- City of Norwich School
- The Clare School
- Cringleford Primary School
- Hethersett Woodside Primary
- The Hewett Academy (Taking part Thur 18th Dec)
- Hethersett Academy (Taking part Thur 18th Dec)
Gary Hydon, PE Coordinator for The Clare School commented:
“It was fantastic to get outside in the sunshine once again (although a little chilly), and don our Santa hats. The pupils were very excited and completed many laps of our outside track.
Jon Osborne, Norwich SSP added;
“The Santa Dash is a great way of encouraging pupils to get more physical activity at a time when they cant take part in lots of clubs and activities due to the bad weather or COVID restrictions. We all like to eat a few more treats over the festive period but events like this are a great way of showing that we can all remain active and healthy over Christmas”.
