Event Description

This is the first of three match days in the SSP Year 5–6 Football Development League. All matches will take place on the outdoor all-weather (3G) 5-a-side pitches at the Sportspark.

Who Can Enter

SSP MEMBER SCHOOLS are invited to enter up to two mixed squads of up to 10 players (teams of 7) from Years 5–6.

There is no minimum requirement for boys or girls in a squad.

Teams will be placed in divisions based on ability. Schools may select a preferred division when entering, but SSP staff will make the final decision to ensure balanced numbers.

Match Days

Thursday 2nd October, 3:30–5:00 pm

Thursday 13th November, 3:30–5:00 pm

Thursday 4th December, 3:30–5:00 pm

Event Objective

The theme for this event is Develop.

Provide more pupils with the chance to represent their school in competitive football.

Help young people develop confidence and competence.

Clothing & Footwear

Matches are outdoors – players should bring warm/dry clothing for between games.

Matches will be played on 5 aside 3G pitches:

Allowed: football trainers or boots with moulded studs.

Not allowed: boots with metal studs or blades.

Goal keeper must wear gloves

Shin pads are strongly recommended.

Parents & Spectators

Spectators are welcome.

Please note: The Sportspark may charge a 70p entry fee.

Transport

Schools are responsible for arranging their own transport.

Photo & Video Consent

We would like to use photos and videos of the event to celebrate the pupils and schools

Photos and videos may be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official photographer for use in media (internet, social media, newspapers, newsletters).

It is each school’s responsibility to ensure parental/guardian consent has been obtained for all participants. If no consent is given, pupils will be required to wear a yellow snapband.
