Event Description
Schools are invited to enter pupils into our Creative Choreography Workshop and Dance Competition.
Students will begin the day by taking part in a choreography-led workshop, providing inspiration, creative tools and ideas to support them in creating their own dance work in small groups. The workshop will encourage creativity, collaboration and self-expression while developing choreographic skills and confidence.
In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to perform as part of the competition through either solo or group performances. Schools may enter pieces featuring student-created choreography or teacher-led choreography, allowing dancers of all abilities and experience levels to showcase their work in a supportive and celebratory environment.
The event provides an exciting opportunity for young people to develop their performance skills, gain valuable stage experience and celebrate creativity through dance.
Event Theme
This is a COMPETE event, designed to provide young people with the opportunity to challenge themselves and showcase their talents in a positive, supportive and competitive environment. The event encourages creativity, confidence and a commitment to achieving their personal best.
Intent
The aim of the event is to develop pupils’ confidence, creativity and performance skills through dance, while providing opportunities to collaborate, perform and celebrate achievement in a positive competitive setting.

Which schools is the event open to?
The event is open to pupils from all high schools in the Norwich School Sport Partnership network. All Schools

Spectators
Unfortunately we can not accommodate spectators at this event.
Transport
Schools are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from the event.
Photo & Video Consent
We would like to capture photographs and videos of the event to celebrate the achievements of the pupils and schools taking part.
- Photos and videos may be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official photographer for use in promotional materials, including websites, social media, newspapers and newsletters.
- It is the responsibility of each school to ensure that appropriate parental or guardian consent has been obtained for all participating pupils.
- Pupils without consent for photography or filming must wear a yellow snap band so they can be easily identified.
Safeguarding & Risk Assessment
- A risk assessment will be emailed to all schools prior to the event.
- Schools are reminded to familarise themselves with their safeguarding responsibilities when attending SSP events. safeguarding responsibilities
