Event Description

Schools are invited to bring 1 team of 8 pupils from Years 3-6 who have a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND).

Teams will take part in a carousel of inclusive multi sports activities where each member will score points for their team.  The team with the most points at the end will be the winner.

This festival is delivered in partnership with Panathlon, a national charity that provides inclusive sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities and special educational needs. Panathlon creates exciting, fun, and competitive sporting experiences that help pupils build confidence, develop new skills, and feel part of a team.

What is the objective of the event? 

The Event Theme for this event is Develop The event is for children who enjoy friendly competition but don’t want to solely focus on winning and losing, instead they focus on supporting a pupils wider development.

The Intent of the event is “provide inclusive opportunities (SEND)”

Which schools is the event open to? 

The event is open to pupils from all schools 

What clothing/footwear should pupils wear? 

The event will be held indoors so please ensure that pupils arrive in suitable indoor PE kit (inc footwear) and bring a water bottle. 

Can parents spectate? 

Spectators are welcome to attend the event.

PLEASE NOTE – The Sportspark may charge an entry fee of 70p for spectators. 

Transport

  • Free transport will be provided for SSP member schools if required.

  • When booking, please indicate:

    • Whether you need transport.

    • The total number of seats required (pupils + adults).

  • Final transport arrangements will be confirmed after the booking deadline once travel has been organised.

Photo & Video Consent

We would like to use photos and videos of the event to celebrate the pupils and schools

  • Photos and videos may be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official photographer for use in media (internet, social media, newspapers, newsletters).

  • It is each school’s responsibility to ensure parental/guardian consent has been obtained for all participants. If no consent is given, pupils will be required to wear a yellow snapband.

  • Full Photo and Video Consent Policy 

Safeguarding & Risk Assessment

  • A risk assessment will be emailed to schools before the event.

  • Schools are reminded of the following safeguarding responsibilities at SSP events.
