Event Description
Schools are invited to enter up to 10 boys and 10 girls from each of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 to take part in the event. The order of events and approximate race distances will be as below;
- Yr 3 girls = 1200m
- Yr 3 boys = 1200m
- Yr 4 girls = 1200m
- Yr 4 boys = 1200m
- Yr 5 girls = 1400m
- Yr 5 boys = 1400m
- Yr 6 girls = 1400m
- Yr 6 boys = 1400m
This event is part of the Norfolk School Games and the top 10 boys and girls in each year group will be invited to represent the SSP at the Norfolk School Games Finals on Thursday 28th November November at Langley Prep Taverham
What is the objective of the event?
The Event Theme for this event is Compete. The event aims to give pupils the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools.
The Intent of the event is to “promote success and achievement”

Which schools is the event open to?
The event is open to pupils from all SSP schools.
What clothing/footwear should pupils wear?
The competition will be held outside at Earlham Park with no access to indoor facilities so please ensure your team are appropriately dressed for the weather conditions on the day. Schools might like to bring a gazebo or ground sheet to protect their belongings. Students should also bring a water bottle/lunch.
Can parents spectate?
Spectators are welcome to attend the event. PLEASE NOTE – There is very limited parking available at the Earlham Park.
Will transport be provided?
We are pleased to be able to offer SSP member schools free transport to this event if needed. When booking, please indicate on the booking form whether you require transport and the total number of seats required (pupils + adults). Transport times will be confirmed once the booking deadline has passed, and transport has been booked.
Photo and video consent
We would like to use photos and videos of the event to celebrate the pupils and schools who have taken part via a variety of media including the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters.
It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official event photographer.
