Event Description

Our Cross Country event provides pupils in Years 3 to 6 with the opportunity to represent their school and compete against others in a fun, challenging outdoor environment at Earlham Park. With race distances ranging from 1400m to 1600m, pupils can test their endurance, experience healthy competition, and develop their running skills in a supportive setting.

Entries

Each school may enter up to 10 boys and 10 girls from each year group (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6)

The event is open to pupils from all schools in the Norwich School Sport Partnership network. All Schools

Event Theme

This is a Compete themed event, providing pupils with the opportunity to challenge themselves and compete against runners from other schools.

Intent

The aim of this event is to support individual sporting development and encourage pupils to enjoy competitive running in a positive and supportive environment.

Clothing & Footwear

The event will take place outdoors at Earlham Park. As there is no access to indoor facilities, pupils should come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.

Schools may wish to bring a gazebo or groundsheet to provide shelter and keep belongings dry.

Public toilets are available on site, and the café will be open throughout the event.

Spectators

Parents and carers are welcome to attend and support participants.

⚠️ Please note: Parking at Earlham Park is extremely limited. Where possible, we encourage car sharing or alternative travel arrangements.

Transport

Schools are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from the event.

Photo & Video Consent

We would like to capture photographs and videos of the event to celebrate the achievements of the pupils and schools taking part.

Photos and videos may be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official photographer for use in promotional materials, including websites, social media, newspapers and newsletters.
It is the responsibility of each school to ensure that appropriate parental or guardian consent has been obtained for all participating pupils.
Pupils without consent for photography or filming must wear a yellow snap band so they can be easily identified.

A risk assessment will be emailed to all schools prior to the event.
