On Wednesday 22nd March we ran our Yr 5 and 6 Girls Football Competition. Each school could bring two teams to the event and battle it out to see who were crowned the champions of the day.
The sun was shining and the all the teams were full of enthusiasm to try their best and win their matches. The friends, and teachers could be heard cheering them off and offering them advice and tactics.
Schools taking part were the fantastic:
- Charles Darwin Primary
- Bignold Primary School
- Bluebell Primary School
- Lakenham Primary School
- Hethersett Woodside Primary School
- St Michaels Junior School
After lots of matches played and each team trying their best to win each game, our overall winners were from Lakenham Primary! The cheers, hugs and overall excitement showed how much it meant to every player.
We have a wonderful group of female role models from City Academy Norwich, Jane Austen College and Hethersett Academy to help run the event. Working as referee’s, time and score keepers, team managers, official photographers and all round great helps. Massive thank you to you all.
It was lovely to hear that some of the schools run very successful all girl football clubs for girls and they are thriving! If you are interested in finding out more about a local club please click the link Find A Club
