Photo & Video Consent Policy

To ensure the safety of participants who take part in our events we follow the below procedures regarding gaining permission to use photo & videos from our events;

Event Booking

When booking to attend an event via the SSP website, it will be stated that photos and videos may be taken. A link to this Photo & Video Consent Policy will also be provided.

Parental/Guardian Consent

It is the responsibility of the participating school to obtain written consent from parents/guardians of all pupils before the event. This consent must cover photographs and videos taken by SSP staff (coordinated by City Academy Norwich) or other appointed photographers/videographers, and the use of such media to promote the event and publicise SSP through its website, social media platforms, and other marketing materials.

Event Briefing

Before the start of each SSP event, schools will be reminded that photos and videos will be taken. If consent has not been given for any pupils, school staff should collect a luminous yellow snap band from an SSP staff member prior to the event and ensure the pupil wears it on their wrist throughout the event.

Dance Shows

Please note: For SSP Dance Shows, all participating pupils must have photo/video consent, as it is not possible to exclude individual pupils from recordings or images of the performance.

Spectators Taking Photos/Videos

During the event briefing, school staff, helpers, and spectators wishing to take photos or videos will be asked to register their details in the SSP Photo Registration folder. They will also be reminded that pupils wearing a yellow snap band must not be photographed or filmed.

Post-Event Review

After the event, the SSP photographer will review all photos and videos taken. Any images or footage featuring a pupil wearing a yellow snap band will be deleted.
