🚀 Yesterday, Jenna kicked off an exciting year 🚀 Yesterday, Jenna kicked off an exciting year of sports leadership training at Charles Darwin Primary School! 🏅

The children had a fantastic morning learning what it takes to be great leaders in their school community. They played a fun true or false game with cones to explore the 6 key leadership principles, tackled the diamond nine activity to figure out what’s most important in playground games, and even got the chance to lead a session for younger students after lunch! 🙌

Each young leader earned a certificate of completion, a special T-shirt, and a Record of Achievement booklet to track their progress throughout the year….with more recognition to come! 🎉

The joy and pride on their faces said it all. Well done to all the Sports Leaders at Charles Darwin Primary….you were absolutely incredible! 👏🏻⚽🏀🥎👏🏻

The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme that recognises and rewards schools for their engagement in sport. It is based upon how well schools involve all students and encourage team work. They also look into things such as how well the school is developing students skills (such as leadership) and also at building resilience through sport. It measures achievements against a national benchmark and celebrates schools’ commitment to keeping young people active.

Taking part in the process enables schools to reflect on their sport and physical activity provision, while also supporting them in creating an action plan for future improvement. They are awarded a bronze, silver or gold based on the quality and range of their sports program 🥉🥈🥇

We were delighted to host two fantastic Year 10 st We were delighted to host two fantastic Year 10 students over the past fortnight…Lillian from OVA and Chester from Hethersett Academy.

Lillian joined us in the lead-up to our dance show, which aligned perfectly with her own background in dance. She worked closely with our dance coordinator Amelia, supported dance activities in both the Infant and Primary Schools, and played an important role in the preparation for the event ✨💫

The following week, we welcomed Chester, who took on a more sports-focused placement. He assisted in PE lessons, led football drills with Improtech Soccer Academy, and contributed to the success of the CAN summer picnic ☀️

Both students were enthusiastic, professional, and proactive, and they truly flourished in the roles they took on 🥰
