The sun was shining, the fish were plenty and it was time for the School Games Year 7-13 Angling Competition at Barford Lakes.

Today, 10 Year 10 students from City Academy Norwich went up against each other and played for the Top 6 places to represent Norwich at the Norfolk School Games.

There were coaches from Barford Lakes who officiated the 3 hour match and helped with coaching tips throughout the event to assist the junior players through the competition.

At the end of the match, the officials weighed the contents of the young anglers nets and it was the total weight of the fish caught was the result.

George Harmer, Project Officer commented;

“I was so impressed with all the anglers today. They all had such a knowledge of fishing and it was great to see the students encouraging each other through the match too.”
