On the 9th May 2024, we had our Year reception – Year 2 multi skills festivals. A massive 334 children took part in 8 activities through out the day.
The festival focused on pupils doing their personal best, having fun, whilst working with pupils from other schools. We hope that the festival will help inspire pupils to develop the habit of choosing to take part in PE/school sport opportunities when they arise in the future.
The schools that took part:
- Valley Primary Academy
- Tuckswood Academy
- The Free School
- Colman Infant School
- Chapel Break Infant School
At the festival pupils took part in a carousel of activities which will challenge them in a variety of fundamental skills. With some events being golden nuggets, treasure hunt and balance biking this is what the children have got to say:
Jamie from The Free School ‘ Football was my favourite – it was fun and I felt like I improved!’
Aria from Colman Infant ‘ The Obstacle race was fun!’
The Racket skills, football dribbling and bean bag throwing were also strong favourites amongst many of the children.
A massive thank you to the students from Hethersett Academy and Notre Dame High as our fantastic leaders who ran each activity for the children.
