Rain rain go away, we’re playing Tri Golf, it was a great day.

Yesterday we had the Tri Golf Competition for Year 1 and 2’s, then in the afternoon we had the competition for Year 3 and 4’s and even with the rain pouring down we had children enjoying some golf for the first time or even improving some skills they already have.

Norwich Family Golf Centre was the host for the event, where the children participated in eight activities. In each activity the children had 5 minutes to practice and then after the horn went off it was 5 minutes of scoring points in the activities.

The competition activities were delivered by sports students from Easton & Otley College, they taught the children the basics of a golf swing and led each activity.

The schools that took part were;

Year 1 and 2 Teams

  • Free School Norwich
  • West Earlham Infant School

Year 3 and 4 Teams

  • Avenue Junior School
  • Free School Norwich
  • Norwich Primary Academy
  • West Earlham Junior School

George Harmer, Project Officer said;

“It was a good day at the golf course and it was great to see the rain didn’t stop the children from having fun. Speaking to the children through the day, it was nice to hear this was the first time they have tried golf and it was good to see them enjoying it.”
