Last week we help three separate multi skills festivals for pupils in Year R-1. Almost 500 pupils took part in the events which were held at the Easton College Tennis Centre.

The festivals were held in Tuesday 22nd March (AM and PM) and Thursday 24th March (AM only).

The following schools participated in the festivals;

  • Mulbarton Primary
  • Free School Norwich
  • Eaton Primary
  • Little Melton Primary
  • Notre Dame Prep
  • Valley Primary Academy
  • Hethersett Woodside Primary
  • Cringleford Primary
  • Charles Darwin Primary

Pupils took part in a range of fun multi skill activities which challenged them to develop different fundamental skills such as throwing, catching, agility, jumping and balancing.

All of the activities were delivered by sports students from City College Norwich and Easton College.

Jon Osborne, Head of Community Sport commented;

“It has been a challenging couple of years and it is so nice to see pupils being able to take part in events like these alongside pupils from other schools.”

“Our aim for the festivals is to give pupils a really positive and fun first experience of school sport. So far this year we have held 11 multi skills festivals for pupils in Years R, 1 and 2 and have engaged over 1800 pupils.”

“We hope that this will help pupils develop their fundamental skills in order to enjoy an active life.”
