New Event!!! – Obstacle Course Challenge

0

On Friday 26th April we had a new event for our high schools – Obstacle Course Challenge!!

The day started with the schools arriving to meet outside on the grounds of Eaton Vale Activity Centre to have lunch in the sun and to be able to walk around the centre to take in all the centre had to offer. After a quick health and safety brief from the instructors and helmets on, each school went off to their activity.  The event was aimed at pupils from Year 7-10 who haven’t previously represented their school at an off site sport/physical activity event this year.

The four fun challenges were; an obstacle course, low ropes, cave bus, pedal go-karting and grass sledging. The day was filled with lots of firsts, record beating, laughs and personal challenges. All our events follow a theme and this event was a ‘Develop Event’ intending to create positive experiences and I think it did just that!

Thank you to City Academy Norwich, The Clare School, Notre Dame High and Hethersett Academy who booked on.

Capturing student voice is always important to us and help shape our events. Here are a few things the children had to say…..

” I can’t believe I actually completed the Cave Bus twice!”
” I really loved the go karts – the whole day was so much fun!”
” I didn’t know Eaton Vale existed! Today has been so epic”

A massive thank you to Susan and her team at Eaton Vale Scout & Guide Activity Centre who lead on each activity. Every session was fun, engaging  and adapted to suit each group – we are already planning more events here next year – watch this space!

Please visit Eaton Vale’s website to see all the course they have to offer including a great summer holiday camp!
