Leadership Days at Bluebell and Bignold Primary Schools

On the 13th and 14th of July, 67 students were trained up to be Sports Leaders by our SSP team member Suzy. This number included 21 Year 4 pupils and 46 Year 5 pupils.

During the training, the students were challenged to think of their leadership role models and why they chose that person. Then they then played Leadership Bingo.

Moving on to take part in a number of Communication activities, such as Back to Back drawing and Lace Tying.  Pupils were tasked with thinking about the best ways to communicate and all the different ways we communicate, including signs, using your voice and tools eg: a whistle.

As the day progresses, pupils discussed the theory behind leading, including the S.T.E.P principle and how to explain and deliver an activity.  Ending with the students in small groups delivering a short session they have planned and practised to a small group of their peers.

Well done to all the students who took part from both primary schools and good luck with putting it all into practice next academic year.
