0

Yesterday, we held our School Games Yr 5-6 Girls Kwik Cricket Competition and the Yr 5-6 Mixed Kwik Cricket Competition in Eaton Park. The Girls event consisted of five teams from four different schools. The Mixed event, which had to be rearranged twice already due to inclement weather, was attended today by four teams from four different schools.

The schools that attended the event were;

  • Bignold Primary (Mixed & Girls)
  • Bluebell Primary (Mixed & Girls)
  • Cringleford Primary (Mixed & Girls)
  • St Francis of Assisi (Mixed)
  • West Earlham Junior School (Girls)

Both competitions followed ECB Kwik Cricket rules and games and were umpired by students from Easton and Otley College. At the start of each game, all teams start with a total of 200 points. Each team batted for one innings and fielded for one innings. Everyone had the opportunity to bowl and play in different fielding positions, rotating after one over. Runs scored were added to the total, and wickets taken meant points were deducted.

There were some very close and competitive games across the afternoon, and the final results were as follows;

Mixed Competition

1st– Cringleford Primary

2nd – St Francis of Assisi Primary

3rd – Bignold Primary School

4th – Bluebell Primary School
