Today we had two festivals; Year R and 1 Multi Skills Festivals in the morning and Year 2 Multi Skills Festivals in the afternoon which saw in total over 200 children participate.
Multi Skills Festivals focus on pupils doing their personal best, having fun, whilst working with pupils from other schools. At the festival pupils take part in a carousel of activities which will challenge them in a variety of fundamental skills.
The festival included eight activities that focused on throwing, catching and movement which were led by Sports Leaders from Easton & Otley College who volunteered their time and did really well at delivering activities.
The schools that attended were;
George Harmer, Project Officer said;
“It was a great day today to see so many children enjoying themselves at the Multi Skills Festivals. It’s so important that children learn these fundamental skills now and we hope they can take these into the future when playing sport.”
At the end of each festival, staff members from each school can nominate children for Sportsmanship Awards and certificates were presented to the children.
One of the Teacher’s from West Earlham Infant School commented;
“The children were engaged at the event and the sessions were active and fast-paced. Each activity was timed just right.”
Gabriella from Henderson Green Primary Academy aged 7 added;
“Yes I loved today, it was lots of fun. Also you can help each other and meet new friends.”
