On Friday 7th June 2024, the sun shone brightly on our last cricket event of the year! The Girls’ Dynamo Cricket Competition was filled with laughter, cheers, and strategic team planning, making the event a resounding success!
Schools were encouraged to bring up to two teams, each consisting of eight girls from Years 5-6. All eight players from a team participated simultaneously. The matches followed the ECB Dynamo Cricket format. This event was part of the Norfolk School Games, and the top two teams earned the opportunity to represent the SSP at the Norfolk School Games Finals, which was held on June 19th at the Horsford Cricket Club.
All schools had a fantastic day but a massive congratulations to Bluebell Primary and Mulbarton Primary for representing the SSP in the finals at Manor Park Cricket Club in Horsford.
The Event Theme for this event was Compete. The event was designed for pupils who are competitive in nature and who enjoy performing and competing against others. The Intent of the event was “to promote success and achievement”
A big thank you to our Sports Leaders from Hethersett Academy for helping the day run as smoothly as it did.
Also a big thank you to at Eaton Park for allowing us to host our event.
Capturing student voice is always important to us and help shape our events. Here are a few things the children had to say…..
Finn – “I’ve learnt how to overarm bowl!”
Jessica – “I liked batting and running really fast”
