On Monday 4th of March 7 of our primary schools brought along girls from Yr 3 and 4 to take part in our Girls Football Festival! Throughout the morning the girls took part in 8 different activities’, each activity based on learning different football skills. From Tag Bulldog, an agility course, 1v1 challenges and other fun games and drills, the girls had a brilliant time in the sunshine.
It was lovely to hear the girls encouraging, cheering, and helping along their friends and managing to speak to a few of girls whilst the event was going on it was good to hear their feedback…..
‘Can we do this all day, I don’t want it to end’
‘This is really fun’
‘Fantastic being with my friends’
‘Can we do this again’
With any event like this we need leaders to help run each activity. Hethersett Academy stepped up to the challenge and did not disappoint. The year 9 leaders were fantastic role models and were complemented by all the Primary School teachers.
Miss Wood from Bignold Primary said
‘I wanted to say a huge thank you for today’s event! The girls absolutely loved it and were chatting away on the coach about their favourite activities and saying how much fun they had. I also wanted to say I was really impressed with the Hethersett pupils, they were great at explaining what to do and cheering the children on. All in all a super event!
Mrs Howes from Lakenham Primary commented
‘Please pass on my appreciative thanks to the Sport Leaders from Hethersett Academy who assisted with the day. They were professional in their conduct towards the children, demonstrated each activity in a manner that was easy to follow and were courteous towards their peers and other staff members from the invited primary schools who were in attendance. They are a credit to their Academy’
Thank you to all the Primary’s that took part… Bignold Primary, Tuckswood Academy, Charles Darwin Primary, Little Melton Primary, Lakenham Primary, The Free School and West Earlham Junior School.
