Girls Football Competition Success!

0

We kicked off the first Monday after half term with not one but two girls football competitions  at the 3G 5 aside football pitches at the UEA sportspark

A whopping 216 girls from 10 different schools took part in our two competitions. With years 3 and 4 battling it out in the morning session and Years 5 and 6 fighting against the cold in the afternoon sessions the day was filled with lots of cheers, encouraging sideline tactics and some very happy footballers who played, drew or lost against fellow football enthusiasts.

With the top two teams from each competition going through to the Norfolk School Games Finals at Goals on the 19th March the schools tried their best to win their place. The successful teams were;

Year 3-4…

  • 1st Place – St Michaels VA Junior School
  • 2nd Place – Cringleford CE VA Primary

Year 5-6

  • 1st Place –  Mulbarton Primary School
  • 2nd Place – Tuckswood Academy

As always these events need the help from our fantastic supporting high schools and this time round Notre Dame High did not disappoint. 16 strong female leaders took charge and officiated each game, encouraging the girls throughout their matches.

Massive thank you to all the school that entered……….Colman Junior, Charles Darwin Primary, Valley Primary, West Earlham Junior, Mulbarton Primary, St Michaels Junior, Eaton primary, Cringleford Primary, Tuckswood Academy and Bluebell Primary – we hope you had a great day and  a big thank you to all the staff  and parent’s that stood out in the cold all day to support their students.
