Event Description

The festival will be run in partnership with the staff and students from the Outdoor Leadership course of City College Norwich based at Easton College.

Schools are invited to bring up to 16 pupils from Years 3-4 who are struggling with the transition to a new school or key stage, or to develop friendships with other young people at their school.

At the festival pupils will work together in a team with other pupils from their school to complete a series of teamwork challenges. Each challenge will require pupils to use physical, social and communication skills to complete the challenges.

What is the objective of the event? 

The Event Theme for this event is ‘Develop’ The event is non-competitive and designed to inspire young people through a positive physical activity experience.

The Intent of the event is “to build social skills and connections”

Which schools is the event open to? 

The event is open to pupils from all schools.

What clothing/footwear should pupils wear?

The event will be held outdoors on a field so please ensure that pupils arrive in suitable outdoor PE kit, including a coat and suitable footwear, and bring a water bottle.  

Can parents spectate? 

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate spectators at this event. 

Will transport be provided? 

We are pleased to be able to offer SSP member schools free transport to this event if needed. When booking, please indicate on the booking form whether you require transport and the total number of seats required (pupils + adults). Transport times will be confirmed once the booking deadline has passed, and transport has been booked. 

Photo and video consent 

We would like to use photos and videos of the event to celebrate the pupils and schools who have taken part via a variety of media including the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters.  

It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official event photographer.
