Event Description

Schools are invited to bring a team of up to 10 girls and/or a team of up to 10 boys. Teams can include pupils from Years 3 and/or 4. Pupils may compete in a maximum of two track and two field events from the following list;

Field Events

  1. Chest Push – (3 pupils)
  2. Standing Long Jump – (3 pupils)
  3. Five Strides – (3 pupils)
  4. Vertical Jump – (3 pupils)
  5. Soft Javelin – (3 pupils)
  6. Speed Bounce – (3 pupils)

Track Events

  1. Obstacle relay (4 pupils)
  2.  1 + 1 Lap Relay (2 pupils)
  3. 2 + 2 Lap Relay (2 pupils)
  4. 1 + 1 Lap Hurdles Relay (2 pupils)
  5. Over/Under Relay (4 relay)
  6. 4 x 1 lap Relay (4 pupils)

The competition will be indoors using sportshall athletics equipment. For more information about sportshall athletics and resources to help you prepare for each event visit www.sportshall.org

Please ensure participants have suitable footwear and bring a water bottle.

What is the objective of the event? 

The Event Theme for this event is Compete which aims to give pupils the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools.

The Intent of the event is to “to support individual development in sport”

Which schools is the event open to? 

The event is open to pupils from SSP member schools 

What clothing/footwear should pupils wear? 

The event will be held indoors so please ensure that pupils arrive in suitable indoor PE kit (inc footwear) and bring a water bottle. 

Can parent spectate?

Spectators are welcome to attend the event. PLEASE NOTE – The Sportspark charged an entry fee of 70p for spectators. 

Will transport be provided? 

We are pleased to be able to offer SSP member schools free transport to this event if needed. When booking, please indicate on the booking form whether you require transport and the total number of seats required (pupils + adults). Transport times will be confirmed once the booking deadline has passed, and transport has been booked. 

We aim to use photos and videos to promote our events using a variety of media including on the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters. It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by SSP staff or official event photographers.

Photo and video consent 

We would like to use photos and videos of the event to celebrate the pupils and schools who have taken part via a variety of media including the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters.  

It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by City Academy Norwich (NSSP) staff or an official event photographer.

A risk assessment for the event will be emailed to schools prior to the event.

To enter to bring pupils to the event please complete the below booking form and press “submit”.

Entry deadline

The deadline for entering is Friday 16th February.
