Aim

This event aims to encourage more pupils to benefit from representing their school in competitive school sport.

Please not that in 2019/20, this event does not feed into a county final

Description

Schools are invited to bring a team of up to 10 girls and a team of up to 10 boys. Teams can include pupils from Years 5 and/or 6. Pupils may compete in a maximum of two track and two field events from the following list;

Field Events

  1. Chest Push – (3 pupils)
  2. Soft Javelin – (3 pupils)
  3. Speed Bounce – (3 pupils)
  4. Standing Long Jump – (3 pupils)
  5. Standing Triple Jump – (3 pupils)
  6. Vertical Jump – (3 pupils)

Track Events

  1. 1 + 1 Lap Relay (2 pupils)
  2. 2 + 2 Lap Relay (2 pupils)
  3. 6 Lap Paarlauf (2 pupils)
  4. Obstacle Relay – (4 pupils)
  5. Over/Under Relay – (4 pupils)
  6. 4 x 1 Lap relay – (4 pupils)

The competition will be indoors using sportshall athletics equipment. Please ensure participants have suitable footwear and bring a water bottle. For more information about sportshall athletics and resources to help you prepare for each event visit www.sportshall.org

The winning boys and girls teams will be invited to represent the SSP at the Norfolk School Games Finals on Thursday 12th February at the Sportspark.

Clothing/Footwear

All matches will be held indoors so pupils will need to wear suitable footwear and clothing.

Spectators

Parents are invited to come along and spectate during the event. PLEASE NOTE – There is a 60p entrance fee to the Sportspark for spectators.

Transport

We are pleased to be able to offer SSP member schools with free transport to this event if needed. In the below booking form please indicate whether you require transport and the total number of seats required (pupils+adults). All transport will be provided by Norse Transport unless otherwise stated. Pick up/drop off times will be confirmed once the booking deadline has past.

Photo and video consent

We aim to use photos and videos to promote our events using a variety of media including on the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters. It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by SSP staff or official event photographers.

Risk Assessment

A risk assessment for the event will be emailed to schools approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.

To enter to bring pupils to the event please complete the below booking form and press “submit”.

Entry deadline

The deadline for entering is Tuesday 14th October (3 weeks prior to the event).
