Description
The aim of the SSP Dance Shows is to inspire more pupils to be active through dance by providing an opportunity for them to represent their school in an exciting dance show with professional sound and lighting on a big stage in front of their friends and family.

The event is open to SSP member schools
Theme
Our SSP dance show will follow a “Champions” theme. Schools will be challenged to perform dances inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Please could schools discuss their music ideas with the SSP Dance Coordinator Lisa Hunter(lisa.hunter@cityacademynorwich.org) to confirm that it is suitable and that no other school has already chosen the song/artist or idea.
Show dates
Wednesday 15th June 2022
Performance times
4pm and 7pm (schools are required to take part in both performances).
Costumes
Schools are required to provide their own pupil’s costumes.
Support available:
The SSP Dance Coordinator Lisa Hunter is able to offer the following to schools taking part in the show;
- Initial help with sessions to develop dance if required.
- Help with ideas on costume and props.
- On-going support to develop dance if required.
- As the show is approaching you will receive all the information you need for the show and for you to complete Evolve. This will also include running orders, coach pick up times etc.
Transport
We are pleased to be able to offer SSP member schools with free transport to this event if needed. In the below booking form please indicate whether you require transport and the total number of seats required (pupils+adults). Pick up/drop off times will be confirmed once the booking deadline has past.
Transport will not be provided at the end of the show, and pupils should be picked up from the venue.
Show tickets
Pupils parents, family and friends are invited to come along and watch the show. Tickets will be available prior to the show.
Photo and video consent
We aim to use photos and videos to promote our events using a variety of media including on the internet, social media, newspapers and newsletters. It is the responsibility of the participating school to ensure that they have asked parents/guardian for permission for photos and videos of all participants to be taken by SSP staff or official event photographers.

Risk Assessment
A risk assessment for the event will be emailed to schools approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.
