Aim
This event is part of the Norfolk School Games and aims to encourage more pupils to benefit from representing their school in competitive school sport.
Description
Schools are invited to enter up to 3 teams of between 4 and 30 pupils from Years 7-9 (single gender or mixed) to take part in the competition.
Each team should prepare a dance of any dance style. It is encouraged that choreography is not plagiarised and must be applied and adapted into original content. Routines should be between 2.5 and 4 minutes in duration.
Dances should be able to be performed within a space approximately 10m x 7m.
Teams are required to submit a short paragraph (max 150 words) detailing the inspiration and concept of the teams routine which will be used by the judges to score the categories.
Music should be saved to MP3/4 format and submitted to Lisa McGreevy (lisa.mcgreevy@cityacademynorwich.org) prior to the event.
Each routine will be judged by a panel of external judges who will use the following four categories totaling 100 points;
- Concept and soundtrack (10 + 5 points)
- Choreography and Floor Use (20 + 15 marks)
- Performance skills (20 points)
- Overall impact (30 points)
The winning dance will be the one with the highest number of points.
