Aim
This event is part of the Norfolk School Games and aims to increase the number of pupils that have the opportunity to represent their school in a competitive athletics competition.
We hope that this event will encourage more schools to take part in competitive athletics who wouldn’t otherwise enter the long running City Sports Athletics Competition.
We also hope that schools who do already take part in City Sports will bring different pupils along to take part in this event.
Description
Schools are invited to enter teams of up to 10 pupils (4-5 boys & 4-5 girls) from Years 3-4. Schools may enter up to 2 teams in the event.
The competition will follow the England Athletics QuadKids format which gives all pupils the opportunity to take part in a
- 75m sprint,
- 600m run,
- vortex howler throw and
- standing long jump.
Each pupil will take part in all four events. Individual performances are scored using a points table. the scores of the top four boys and top four girls over the four events are added together to give the team score and the team with the highest cumulative points score wins. For more information about Quadkids please visit www.quadkids.org
