Can They Kick It? Yes They Can!!

This afternoon we held our second Girls Football Competition of the week. This time it was the turn of the Year 5 & 6 girls to show off their skills.

More than 100 pupils from 9 different schools took part in the competition which was part of the county wide Norfolk School Games. The competition was held at the Sportspark at the UEA on the all weather floodlit pitches.

Fifteen teams from the following schools took part;

  • Bignold Primary School
  • West Earlham Junior School
  • Lakenham Primary School
  • Hethersett VC Primary
  • Valley Primary School
  • Bluebell Primary School
  • Avenue Junior School
  • Free School Norwich
  • Mulbarton Primary School

All matches were refereed by sports students from Easton & Otley College.

Teams were initially split into for groups which played against each other in a round robin format. Once the games had been played the teams that finished 1st or 2nd in each group went into the Cup competition whilst the teams that finished 3rd or 4th went into the Plate competition.

In the Cup and Plate competitions teams were split into two groups and teams played against each other within their group. The teams that finished in the same position in each group played off for overall position. For example, the teams that finished first in each of the Cup groups played off for 1st and 2nd overall, the teams that finished 2nd in each Cup group played for 3rd and 4th overall etc.
