The sun was shining and lots of children could be heard across Eaton Park as they embarked on a day of cricket matches against teams in the partnership to see who would be the runners up and champions to head to the finals at Manor Park. With 18 teams entered, we were able to deliver 3 leagues across the day to play some friendly but competitive cricket. On Wednesday 22nd March we ran our Yr 5 and 6 Girls Football Competition. Each school could bring two teams to the event and battle it out to see who were crowned the champions of the day. The sun was shining and the all the teams were full of enthusiasm to try their best and win their matches. Teamwork Challenge – Monday 15th May 2023 @ Easton College On Monday, 7 Primary schools from our Partnership brought between them 110 year 3 and 4 children along to our fantastic Teamwork Challenge. We had the awesome students from @outdoorleadershipccn lead each activity tasking the children to solve challenges, through fun activities. On Monday 13th March, working alongside Norfolk Cricket board, we held an event for Year 1 and 2 to explore cricket skill based activities. The noise around the sportshall and happy faces were a true testament to the fun the children had. We are delighted that the government has announced today the continued funding of the School Games network for the next two academic years, as part of a wider range of school sport investment. The funding of £22 million will allow the network of 450 School Games Organisers (SGOs) to provide young people across the country with the opportunity to compete in positive sporting experiences. It will also allow SGOs to continue to work in partnership with their local schools and partners to promote the importance of regular physical activity to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of young people. What an absolutely amazing day we had running our “Wonderland” Dance Show our first show of 2023! With 7 Primary schools and 2 high schools – that’s approximately 350 students taking part. They embraced the whole experience and will have memories forever of the day. On Friday 4th November we held an SSP Cross Country Competition in Earlham Park in Norwich. Three hundred and eighty five Year 3-6 pupils from 14 SSP member schools took part. The competition followed our ‘DEVELOP’ event theme and aimed to encourage more pupils to represent their school in competitive sport whilst aiming to achieve their personal best.
