Did your school take part in our virtual Norfolk School Games challenges last term? If you did, then keep an eye on the Norfolk School Games website and social media platforms over the next few weeks. We’ll be looking back over each of the competitions that took place and celebrating those schools who took part. This week’s article is a roundup of the virtual games.
Back in September, the Norfolk School Games offer went virtual again and our offer was redesigned to include a range of COVID safe competitions. The focus of the competitions was on whole class engagement and working together to achieve their best overall score. All schools from across the county were invited to take part and submit their entries on the Norfolk School Games website.
There were challenges for primary and secondary schools which included athletics, dance, cross country, golf and gymnastics. During each of the competitions, pupils were also challenged to demonstrate the School Games values; determination, passion, respect, honesty, self-belief and teamwork.
Across the term, we had a fantastic response and a total of 121 schools took part across Norfolk, including 109 primary, 9 secondary and 3 special schools. Approximately 18,000 pupils accessed at least one of the challenges over the term! It was great to see so many schools getting involved and supporting their pupils to stay active and engaged during such a challenging time.
